Reopening March 31st 2014, our restaurant & bar will serve breakfast, elevenses, a great value set lunch, afternoon tea & an all day a la carte menu.
The new interior will retain its intimate clubby, bohemian atmosphere with new furniture & an enhanced collection of eclectic oil portraits from the Bloomsbury period.
We will continue to serve simple yet innovative, predominately classic British cooking, influenced by the seasons & abundant native produce.
Ingredients will be the best of British, seasonal & locally sourced. In spring, think gulls eggs, asparagus & Jersey potatoes… In summer sea trout, samphire, broad beans, goats curd & perfectly ripe Oxfordshire berries. Autumn brings us the best flat fish & local game, & in winter we look forward to Rofford Farm beef & pork. Throughout the year Aberdeen Angus beef, Poll Dorset lamb & Oxford Sandy & black pork from the owner’s Oxfordshire ‘Rofford Farm’ will continue to supply the kitchen.
A brand new dedicated pastry section in the kitchen will further enhance our reputation as Oxford’s number one destination for afternoon tea in the city.
