The philosophy at the Old Parsonage is simple: to serve the very best  seasonal food using the best produce to create superb mouth watering dishes. Service is friendly, personal and informed without being overbearing. The accompanying wine list is designed to bring you the best wine at reasonable prices and for you to be confident that each wine you choose will be great. The Old Parsonage is the perfect place for an informal lunch as well as ideal for a celebratory afternoon tea or dinner.

The restaurant and bar with their Russian red walls, covered with original cartoons and interesting portraits are open from breakfast until late. Serving British classics in a bohemian, club like atmosphere you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner or just pop in for a drink. In summer dining moves to the famous walled terrace as does the Wednesday evening jazz. As well as being the best place for afternoon tea in Oxford the Old Parsonage is a favourite for many of the local academics for an informal lunch and a bottle of great wine.

Head chef, Alicia Storey adapts traditional recipes and devises new ones to provide a range of seasonal dishes that will appeal to everyone. Start with our legendary light goats cheese souffle, the acclaimed smoked salmon prepared for us in Gloucestershire or the Harbourne blue cheese salad. Move on to the popular braised lamb shoulder or fish pie. Equally matched are our vegetarian options of artichoke hearts with duxelles or vegetables a la Grecque round off with sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce. Renowned for its fresh, seasonal dishes you will find plenty on the menu to gratify both fish and meat lovers. We also offer an array of starters; Jerusalem artichoke soup, butternut squash ravioli with beurre noisette and razor clams with garlic and parsley butter all appear on the current menu. Luscious puddings such as lemon tart, apple and blackberry crumble with creme anglaise, chocolate truffle cake with soured cream and quince sorbet all tempt.

The Old Parsonage is open 365 days a year.

Our Set Lunch Menu is available from 12 noon to 2.30pm Monday to Friday. It is also served as an Early Supper menu 5.45 to 6.45 on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday & from 5.45 until 8.30 on Wednesday. We also serve our A la Carte Menu at lunchtime Monday to Saturday.

Our Dinner Menu is served from 6-10.30pm Monday – Sunday.

The Bar Snacks Menu is available 12 noon – 10.30pm daily.
